I bought my first water-cooled VW from my mom in 2015, being the second owner I took the car and made it my pavement princess. It was a 1998 VW Jetta GLX in Porcelain Blue Metallic, they came out with less than 1000 in this color for the model year. even less as a fully loaded Sedan. I had since refreshed the engine that had a tired but joyful 200,000 miles, at the time I was a body technician at Dennis Dillon GMC. So many panels and partial panels were resprayed in that gorgeous blue that I am known for the upkeep of in the car community. This is the car that helped me learn more about electrical diagnosis and repair. Since then I have ventured into the diesel world of VW and continue to enjoy the brand as a cozy daily commuter, that sees mileage well into the 60+MPG.
